Royal Van Zanten

Client
Royal Van Zanten is an innovative family-run company that operates successfully in international floriculture. They do this by continuously improving genetics, by synergies in plant-breeding, multiplication and cultivation technologies, and by intensive cooperation with partners within the supply chain.

Brief
Royal van Zanten asked Studio Piraat to restyle the visual identity for international use, both online and offline.

Solution
A brand new logo featuring a complete visual identity. In addition to new colours, gradients, and typography, a dynamic grid was added to the corporate style. Due to the many expressions for Royal Van Zanten such as trade shows, catalogues, brochures, trucks, and signing, this grid provides a strong base and an infinite number of possibilities in the layout.

Result
A strong international brand, with a modern and uniform look. Every online and offline expression is designed with eye for detail and is immediately recognisable. Check out the updated website here.

evoswitch.com

Client
EvoSwitch provides secure and durable data center services with cloud and carrier-neutral data centers in Europe and the US. EvoSwitch helps customers with their growing ecosystems through interconnection and hybrid cloud solutions. EvoSwitch operates on the edge of the internet and provides access to public clouds.

Briefing
Studio Piraat was asked to create an online positioning and visual identity for EvoSwitch. Developing a website that explains the complex and different services clearly was part of the job.

Solution
We designed and built a strong, clear website with a future-forward design. In order to fully complement EvoSwitch’s demand, we developed an image and design with new icons, typography, illustrations and graphics that enhance EvoSwitch’s brand. The visual identity is brought to life in an animation and a scroll-based infographic. The services of EvoSwitch have a technical and complicated character that we visualised with expressions that are easy to understand and visually appealing.

Result
A fresh visual identity, a website claiming EvoSwitch’s position online and an animation that clarifies their work. EvoSwitch now shows that they are truly The Next Generation Datacenters.

The Leesbeest (literally reading animal) offers schoolchildren help with dyslexia, reading and spelling problems, dyscalculia, and their maths. The Leesbeest makes every child wild about reading!

Brief
Develop an identity and website that appeals to the target audience, providing a visual experience.

A graphic identity, in which colour and the ‘Dyslexie’ font make reading easier for dyslexics. In short, an identity that turns problems into fun, encouraging children to do more.

Result
An illustrative style that invites and excites children to become a real ‘Leesbeest’ themselves. The website addresses the target audience (and parents) in an accessible yet professional manner.

Not just children, but also clients are enthusiastic about our identity. The website is playful but professional. Also the creatively different promotional materials are certainly bearing fruit.” – Yasmin from Leesbeest

Grand Café Plein 7 is an atmospheric new concept grand café in the center of Woerden.

Brief
Develop an accessible identity with which both Plein 7 and its broad target clientèle can identify.

Solution
A graphic featuring the building (well-known locally), creates a recognisable identity. Bold lines, graphics and typography work together and were also used for the interior design. Familiar, relevant and accessible to a broad public.

Result

CDA

Client
The CDA is a Dutch Christian-democratic political party.

Brief
Restyle their current identity into an innovative, clear and adaptable nationwide identity.

Solution
The redesigned CDA identity is a refreshed logo with a reinforcing new image lexicon, fonts and colours. By keeping the typography the same and simply adding a circle in the background  a whole new look is created.

This results in a new identity that is more adaptable to different needs. The new CDA colour spectrum is inspired by colours of the Dutch countryside. The colour scheme allows for versatility in the identity. Additionally an identity guide is created for nationwide use.

Result
A new and individual appearance, recognisable and adaptable. A nationally strong and distinct appearance addressing a broader audience. In addition to the identity, Studio Piraat also developed various infographics, campaigns and the design of their website.

Floret

Client
Floret is a law firm in The Hague specializing in competition law and regulatory litigation.

Brief
Develop a modern visual identity for our law office.

Solution
The meaning of the name Floret has been leading in the development of this identity. A “Floret” in Dutch is the weapon used in fencing. The two parties of this sport are present in the same sharp way as in each lawsuit.

The sharp cut in the typography visualizes this duel and reveals the division. The diagonal line is consistently and robustly envisioned in the identity.

Result
A modern visual identity, which is effective and strong due to its simplicity. Fully applied in the website.
